We have some incredibly exciting news to share from Jaykays Dance Company!
Following our recent Summer IDTA examination session, four Jaykays dancers have earned nominations for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards 2027.
A huge congratulations to Amelia, Bailey, Daniel and Isla! 🌟
It’s a fantastic achievement for each dancer. Moreover, it’s an incredibly proud moment for everyone at Jaykays.
What are the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards?
The IDTA Theatre Dance Awards are prestigious annual awards organised by the International Dance Teachers Association.
Each year, the awards bring together talented dancers from across the country. These dancers have all achieved outstanding results in their IDTA examinations.
Importantly, dancers can’t simply choose to enter the awards.
Instead, an IDTA examiner selects candidates following their examination. Eligible dancers must achieve a mark of 92% or above.
Therefore, earning a place at the Theatre Dance Awards is an achievement in itself. It recognises an exceptional examination performance and an impressive standard of dance.
Four dancers. Four nominations. One very proud dance school.
Having one dancer nominated would give us plenty to celebrate.
However, Amelia, Bailey, Daniel and Isla all earned nominations during the same Jaykays examination session. That makes this an extra special moment for our school.
Behind each nomination are hours of training and practice. Our dancers continually work on their technique, performance and confidence.
Ultimately, all that hard work leads to the examination room. There, each dancer has the opportunity to show just how far they have come.
We couldn’t be prouder of our four nominees and everything they have achieved.
Another fantastic IDTA exam season for Jaykays
Alongside our four nominations, we also received another brilliant set of Summer IDTA examination results.
Our students took examinations across Ballet, Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz.
Once again, they achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate. As a result, Jaykays continues its strong record of IDTA examination success.
Of course, every result represents much more than a mark on a piece of paper. It reflects hard work, determination and commitment.
We’re incredibly proud of every student who took an examination this summer.
Now, we’re eagerly awaiting the certificates and awards. We can’t wait to present them to our dancers in class! 🏆
Next stop: Telford!
In February 2027, our four nominees will head to the Telford International Centre for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards.
There, they’ll join talented dancers from across the country. Most importantly, they’ll get to enjoy a very special dance experience.
Whatever happens on the day, earning a nomination is already an incredible achievement.
The whole Jaykays family will be cheering them on!

Finally, we want to recognise the dedicated teaching team supporting our dancers throughout their training.
Our Jaykays teaching team spends countless hours teaching, preparing and encouraging our students. They also help every dancer develop their skills and grow in confidence.
We’re incredibly proud of the standards our dancers continue to achieve.
However, dance is about far more than exam results. We’re equally proud to watch their confidence, resilience and love of dance grow along the way.
So, congratulations to every dancer who took an examination this summer.
