We have another fantastic Jaykays Dance student success to celebrate!
More than 90 young dancers recently auditioned for the chance to join the Junior Ensemble of Cinderella at The Spa Centre. We’re delighted to share that Jaykays dancer Ivy successfully secured a place in Team Buttons!
It was a brilliant result from what was a highly competitive audition. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity for our dancers to put their training into practice and experience the excitement of a professional theatre audition.
A fantastic achievement for four Jaykays dancers
Ivy wasn’t our only dancer to do brilliantly on the day.
Maisie, Marni and Amelia all made it through to the final 32 dancers. As a result, all three have secured places on the reserve team.
That means all four of our Jaykays dancers achieved fantastic results from a field of more than 90 auditionees. We couldn’t be prouder of them.
Building confidence through dance
Of course, auditions aren’t simply about whether you secure a place.
Walking into an audition room takes confidence and courage. Dancers need to listen, learn choreography quickly and perform under pressure. At the same time, they have to let their personality and performance skills shine through.
These experiences are therefore an important part of a young dancer’s development. They give students the chance to challenge themselves, build resilience and gain valuable performance experience outside their regular dance classes.
For Ivy, that experience now continues as she prepares to join Team Buttons and take to the stage in Cinderella.
From the Jaykays studio to the stage
At Jaykays Dance Company, we love seeing our students take the skills they develop in class and use them beyond the studio.
Whether that means taking an exam, performing in a show, attending an audition or simply achieving a personal goal, every milestone matters.
So, a huge congratulations to Ivy, Maisie, Marni and Amelia. You represented Jaykays brilliantly, and we’re incredibly proud of you all.
And Ivy… you SHALL go to the ball! 👑✨
We can’t wait to see you on stage in Cinderella at The Royal Spa Centre.
