We are delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement by Jaykays student Isla.
After a highly competitive audition process, Isla secured a place in the Junior Ensemble for this year’s production of Beauty & The Beast at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.
More than 150 young dancers auditioned for just 24 available places. Isla’s success reflects her dedication, hard work and commitment to her training.
A Fantastic Audition Success
Competition for places in the production was incredibly strong. Dancers from across the region attended auditions, all hoping to secure a role in the cast.
Through her talent, determination and performance skills, Isla earned one of the coveted ensemble places. Everyone at Jaykays is incredibly proud of her achievement.
About the Production
This year’s Beauty & The Beast is produced by Imagine Theatre, one of the UK’s leading pantomime producers.
Known for creating spectacular family entertainment, Imagine Theatre delivers professional productions in theatres across the country each festive season. Performing in a production of this scale gives young performers valuable experience and exposure to the professional theatre industry.
Developing Young Performers
At Jaykays, we love seeing students pursue opportunities beyond the studio.
Regular classes, performances and training help students build confidence, resilience and stage presence. These qualities often play a key role when audition opportunities arise.
Many students begin their journey in our Lower School dance classes before progressing into our Stage School programme. There, they continue to develop their dance, musical theatre and performance skills while gaining valuable stage experience.
Looking Ahead
We cannot wait to watch Isla take to the stage this Christmas as part of the Junior Ensemble.
This achievement marks an exciting milestone in her performing arts journey, and we know she will represent both herself and Jaykays brilliantly.
